One game a day, the same start for everyone

The Daily Challenge uses the normal Block Blast rules: an 8×8 board, three pieces at a time, and rows and columns that clear when they are full. The difference is the pieces. Everyone who plays on the same date gets the same pieces in the same order, in every language, so when you compare scores with a friend, you both had the same start.

There is one exception, the fairness rule of the game: if your board cannot take the next set of pieces, the game draws a different set for you. Two players who have filled their boards in different ways can therefore get different pieces later in the game.

A new Daily Challenge starts at midnight in your own time zone, and the result screen shows a countdown to it. Each challenge has a number: Daily #1 was played on October 20, 2026.

Attempts, streak and sharing

You can play the Daily Challenge as many times as you like. Only your best score of the day is kept, so a bad start costs you nothing: press New game and today's challenge starts again from the first piece. That makes a second attempt a good way to test a different plan.

Finish at least one daily game on several days in a row and your streak grows. Your statistics show your current streak, your longest streak and your best score today. The share button on the result screen prepares a short message with the number of the challenge, your score and a link.

The daily game is saved separately from Classic, so you can switch between the two without losing either game.

Daily Challenge: questions

When does the Daily Challenge change?

At midnight in your local time zone. If midnight passes while you are playing, you can finish your game, and it counts for the day it started.

Why does my friend abroad have a different challenge?

The challenge follows each player's local date. If your friend's time zone has already reached the next day, they are playing the next challenge.

What keeps my streak going?

Finishing at least one daily game every day, which means playing until no piece fits; starting over does not count. Your score does not matter. If you miss a whole day, the streak starts again from zero, but your longest streak stays in your statistics.
